In keeping with the spookiness of the day Halloween, Samhain, Devil's Night and on the first All Souls Day I thought I would post this photo of myself taken about 10 years ago at a psychic fair.
Apparently my "aura" is mostly blue with some green in there too. I've forgotten what it is supposed to mean, but it was fun, and only $10.00 bux. Anyone have this done before, or know what a blue aura means?
Happy photo hunting, and thanks so much for stopping by!

1. What’s your mood today? Why do you feel this way? Would you consider yourself to be a moody person overall? When has your “moodiness” gotten you into trouble? Tell us about that incident.
Tired, but that is not really a mood so I'll have to say blah...I really do not consider myself to be moody as a rule, and I honestly cannot think of a time when moodiness got me into trouble beyond when I was a preteen, and first getting PMS. A a young teen my moodiness got me into trouble for being mouthy.
2. How do you feel about the dentist? On a scale of 1 (terrified) to 10 (he’s like a brother to you). And, if it’s a low number … is there a reason behind your fear / loathing? Tell us a dentist story (we all have them!)
I am ok with going to the dentist despite having a drill bit break off in my mouth once. For you "nervous nellies" out there I won't finish the story as I believe seeing the dentist on a regular basis is very important. ![]()
3. If you could interview anyone, who would you interview, and what would the first question be?
I would interview Elizabeth I as I am a huge Tudor era history buff. Assuming I would get an honest answer I would ask her the true nature of her relationship with her sister Mary Queen of Scots, and did she really sign the death warrant not knowing the execution would be carried out? I LOVE Elizabeth I ![]()
4. What did you do over the weekend?
Not very much. It has been cold, and almost non-stop rain, and to top it off hubby has the flu. ![]()
Thanks so much to Karen for putting together another fun meme. Why not play along

1.What is your earliest memory of a library? Who took you? Do you have any funny/odd memories of the library?
My earliest memory of the Toronto public library was going with my Mom pre-Kindergarten, so the early 1970s. I do not have any odd or funny memories from those early visits, but I do recall how in awe I was of all the books, and how cool I thought it was. ![]()
2. What two things are at the top of your to-do list? When do you think you’ll get around to doing those things? How good are you at crossing things off your to-do list?
Clean out Baby bunny's cage, and get the dishes in the sink washed. Both will be done in the next hour. My regular chore to-do list I am very good at getting accomplished, the more "I'd like to-do list" like clean out the storage closet, I'm not so goodly at getting done as quickly as I would like to.
3. Where do you come in the family? Are you the oldest? Youngest? Only child? Or smack in the middle? How do you think this has affected the way you grew up? Would you agree with your birth order personality? Are you happy with your birth order, or do you wish you had been the oldest/youngest, etc.
I am in the middle, and I'm cool with that. ![]()

Julianna was my paternal grandmother. She is pictured above with her sons from left to right Joe, Alec, and Mike. Alec was my Dad. At the time of this writing my grandmother, father, and uncle Mike have all passed on. I hope you don't mind my sharing a vintage photo with you, but I have been sorting through old family photos, and thought this would be a good one for the theme.

1.If your children are going trick-or-treating this year, what costumes are they wearing? Do you take them door-to-door or do you take them to a sponsored event? Tell us about the last time you dressed up for Halloween. How do you feel about Halloween in general?
I LOVE Halloween, and I dress up every year! I used to take all three of my kids trick-or-treating until the eldest two out grew it. This will probably be my youngest kiddo's last night (she will be 13 next month) for tricks or treats, so I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can.
2. Do your friends and family read your blog? How does this knowledge affect your writing? Do you feel like you can totally be yourself on your blog? Where do you draw the line when it comes to disclosing too much about your life on your blog?
I draw the line at my own personal comfort zone, and I try to be mindful about how others would feel by my writing about them. Yes, what you see/read here and on my other blogs is pretty much the "real" Sue.
3. Are you an early bird or a night owl? What do you like to do in the early morning hours or late at night? How do your sleeping patterns affect the rest of your family?
Traditionally a night owl I am now an early to bed type mostly due to my thyroid condition. I used to love reading late at night, and no I do not think that ever affected anyone.
4. Do you lie about your age? Why or why not?
Never, I am a very happy 41 year old
And I think I'll be smashing at 50! ![]()

I admit it....I am a bad snacker. I like my potato chips, and popcorn. I have tried healthy substitutes like rice cakes... and ew! I'm sorry, to me they taste like cardboard. Don't ask me how I know what cardboard tastes like....
To make myself feel better about my snacking choices I have started buying Nativa, which is available here in Canada through Shoppers Drug Mart. All of the ingredients are 100% organic, and the products I have tried so far are delicious!
Nativa products also include cookies! Yum! ![]()

With Halloween coming up in a few weeks I thought these fab creations by my friend Lynn were just too cute!

This is what Lynn has to say about this set:
The Jack-o-lantern took me 13hrs to make and the Ghost took 4 hrs to make...So a total of 17 hrs to create this.
The appeal is in the detail here. I learned that to make detail in a pumpkin requires me to build up the detail parts like teeth and eyes. The crevaces must be deep and the edges must be very sharp to be able to make the carved face. The largest amount of time is spent on edges in this piece.
Oct 2008This piece comes with a certificate of Authenticity.
I have a skull made by Lynn in this ancient felting tradition, and you'll never see one just like it. These minis make for a fun gift item, and Lynn has tons of cute ones listed at her Etsy shop.

1. Do you have certain times of the day when you have to have things done? Does your day run on a timetable? Or are you more of a laissez-faire kind of person?
I lead a somewhat structured life, but it is not too rigid. Occasionally I shake-up my routine on purpose. ![]()
2. What one word describes you on a good day? What about on a bad day? What one word would your best friend use to describe you? What one word would your significant other use to describe you?
On a good day I am magnificent!!! On a bad one I tend to be sucky. Hopefully my best friend would use the word reliable (because I want her to know I can be relied on) and my significant other would describe me as passionate...I just asked him. ![]()
3. Your blog is being made into a television show. What kind of show will it be? Sit-com? Drama? How long is it? Hour? Half-hour? Sunday night movie? And most importantly, who are your show’s sponsors?
A weekly shopping show of course! My sponsors would be fabulous companies that are cutting edge in eco-friendly technologies. ![]()
4. What is your favorite perfume or cologne? How often do you wear perfume or cologne? Has anyone ever told you smelled good/bad? If so, how did that make you feel? Flattered? Self-conscious? Uncomfortable?
I'm not really the perfume type, but I do like vanilla, and rose scents on occasion. I have never been told I'm stinky at least not since grade school, and that is a good thing! And of course I would feel bad if someone told me I smelled bad who wouldn't feel bad about something like that. ![]()

From a Canadian perspective the $700bn bail-out plan aimed at rescuing the US financial system is a very good thing. Here in Ontario it will help to stave off a possible recession due to a slump in our manufacturing sector.
However, I do question how good this will be for the average American taxpayer in the long run? I am no expert, but I do wonder if this bail out will serve as a strong lesson for consumers who spend far beyond their own means, and the credit institutions that have allowed for this situation to happen in the first place. Or not...
Here is what it looks like in a simple graph:

What do you think? It surely will save jobs, but how fair is this to those who did not get sucked up into spending beyond their means.

A few years back I went on an odyssey to find the most perfect roti here in Toronto....and I found it! The best roti in my opinion here, and possibly everywhere is in Parkdale at Bacchus Roti Shop.

Last weekend I made the trek to 1376 Queen Street West in order to indulge my roti craving.

Not only do they make outstanding Roti to dine in or take-out....

....they also have great jerk chicken, curry goat, rice' n' peas, coleslaw, soup including ginger chicken, and so much more. They are licensed, but my own personal choice of beverage is ginger beer. ![]()

I am not the only one to absolutely love this restaurant. Over the years they have had many, many excellent reviews.

While I do not get out to Bacchus Roti as much as I would like to I am a very happy repeat customer. ![]()

Here in Canada they have set up a do-not-call list where people can register their telephone numbers in order to opt out of telemarketing, and/or market research calls. The website to register was launched yesterday, and crashed within hours due to high volume traffic. The phone line for registry is jammed, and my friend reports was a two hour wait to get on the list via that route.
I guess we Canadians do NOT wish to be called about products, and services. Ya think?! ![]()
